Gamblin Gamvar Picture Varnish Satin Finish 125ml Bottle Use this varnish to add depth to your paintings and promote a unified and protective surface. Satin gives a Semi-gloss surface. The Gamvar varnishes were developed in collaboration with the National Gallery of Art in Washington, USA. Apply this varnish with a brush, do not spray. Gamvar varnish can be easily and safely removed with Gamsol. Gamvar is virtually odourless and ready to apply. When to varnish with Gamvar: For most paintings, there is no need to wait for 6 to 12 months before varnishing with Gamvar. Gamvar can be applied when the thickest areas of your painting are firm. Gently press your fingernail into the thickest area of paint. If it is firm underneath the surface, then it is ready for varnishing.
